Silicon Labs 400 Lobby

Sarabi Studio partnered with general contractor MAPP and architecture firm MBDS to deliver several unique mirror polished stainless steel features for the re-imagined lobby space. The features included 1/4” thick stainless steel elevator portals with brushed faces and mirror polished edges, a elevator lobby entry screen to draw your eye to the main elevator bank for the office levels and a set of 4 nearly 13’ tall mirror polished stainless steel screens to accent the lobby and create a corridor of sorts. The new space breaths a fresh breath into a once dated space. Not long ago we also were part of the modernizing of the 200 building lobby owned by silicon labs.

The primary challenge of this build was to laser cut, debur and form stainless steel that was mirror polished on both faces! Any moves had to be precise and well planned. Starting with surface protection film on both faces we carefully removed and re-applied protection at many stages of the process and again for transport and installation on site. The end result was a brilliant a sparkling set of features.
